YEAH for Spring!!!

Nearing completion! It looks beautiful!
The wet stuff we tore out--the garage turned into a pretty nice work space. It was difficult for the kids with all the saws and tools there. . .I had to have a talk with them right when we got up for the day. Later that day we went outside and I heard Caleb talking to himself, "I know these saws and tools look fun to touch, but they are dangerous (or something like that--I got lost in the first part, because I don't remember phrasing it like that to them, but that is how he remembered it:) )
This is where it all began. . .the toilet. . .started leaking--water underneath the wood floor is not good! especially when it runs clear across the kitchen!!!

Dan began to investigate the suspicious buckling boards on Easter Sunday night--We were up late ripping out, cleaning up and hoping for a quick repair job the next day. Dan worked a big day on Monday putting in new flooring with the help of our friends David (our neighbor) and Austin. . .Big, long, days of work, for them!!! but thankfully at about midnight on Tuesday, the floor was complete with trim and all! We still need to finish up the plumbing, but that shouldn't take too long. Dan pushed hard to complete it because we had a couple showings and they had to reschedule because we had begun the process of tearing it up before we knew there would be showings. He is just very thankful it is done!!!
Easter Sunday morning with Grandpa and Grandma V.P.
Boy is it hard to get a good picture of this gang. . .
Avery LOVES her feet and her amazing flexibility--she chews/sucks on them a lot--her socks are often wet!

Kylie always loves having her picture taken with her sister!
Avery is beginning to sit on her own--this was taken a couple weeks ago and she just keeps getting better at it!
A GIRLS SLEEPOVER! Kylie was super excited to be able to have Taylor sleep over the other night and Taylor was amazing--very independent as Allison puts it:) She only had to reassure herself once by telling me that her mom was going to come get her after a while.
Watching Tinkerbell before bed--up on the litte DVD player in their room.
Caleb was trying his best to get in on this photo:)
What gorgeous days we have been having! The kids and I have certainly been enjoying the wonderful outdoor weather the past few days. I am reminded once again of the "habits" of summer--the kids coming in with black hands, face and especially feet if wearing flip flops because our black tar, sand in clothes spilling onto the floor, gathering in many toys, boys wanting to climb trees, ride their bikes down our ditch and flip over the handle bars and the most fun part--how many kids we have in our neighborhood! Besides our closest neighbors with 5 other kids joining my 4, we have been having a few "regulars" on our street. The is a boy and girl who join our street crew that are in Kindergarten or first grade and then there were some others there today. . .We noticed a woman sitting across the street on her deck just watching us--we're pretty sure we were her entertainment for the evening:) No TV? Just come watch the crazy street:)

Bummer on those unexpected house projects! The new floor looks great though! Monday must have been a floor day. We did dining room floor as well!

We had carpet in our dining room which we were quickly realizing doesn't work so well with a little one learning to use utensils! :) I agree with you guys that home projects are not our favorite either. We usually want to go hiking instead! :)
