Breakfast in Kylie's bed--our tradition on birthday mornings.

The boys turned 8 this year!  They had quite the birthday party  enjoying lots of games of dodgeball and snacks and birthday cookie with their friends at SWC.  I think we had about 16 boys there and it went really smoothly (a lot easier than trying to help boys get on ice skates like last year!!!!)  We celebrated the monday before their birthday since it was a no-school day and my mom was having surgery on their actual birthday.

For memory sake:  Caleb continues to be passionate about life.   He is very excited about most everything in life.  He can become dramatic when things do not go according to his plan.  This year he took part in a camp at his school about art and sports around the world, he took swimming lessons, played fall baseball, and winter basketball.  He is convinced he wants to become a professional baseball player.  He has begun collecting baseball cards and this sport has peaked his interest the most so far.  He still loves video games and has become sensitive when people tell him he is a video game-aholic.  He loves people and is very social and he enjoys being a leader.  He is an amazing reader and his hand-writing beautiful (although he hates to do it).  School comes quite easy for him which is good because he is easily frustrated when something is difficult.  He has matured over the last year, becoming calmer and articulating problems well, and we are very proud of him!  His ability to recall Bible stories surprises us and he loves Jesus!  Caleb decided to use his birthday money on a dslite--he has been wanting that for 2 years now...Dan and I are unsure if this is wise or not.

Bennet continues to be joy-filled.  He loves people and being around them and is a bit of a follower in social situations.  He does great in school!  He rarely needs to study for spelling, bible verses or tests, but he can become quite sad in school if things are difficult for him.  He loves playing kickball outside at recess time with most of the other boys out for recess.  He took part in the same camp, he did winter basketball (this year Dan is coaching him), fall baseball and swimming lessons.  He too is collecting baseball cards and seems to enjoy baseball but isn't quite as sold on it as Caleb is.  He is tender-hearted and would rather sleep upstairs than down.  He recalls Bible stories well and loves Jesus!  He sticks up for Caleb when Caleb's feelings get hurt--they are quite the pair.  They have slept most of the year in 1 twin bed.  We put the twin beds together now, since they are getting so big, but often times I go to check on them and they are both in the same bed sleeping.  Bennet was super excited to use this year's birthday money on the wii game skylanders.  Bennet probably is the quietest of our family--hard to believe I know--I treasure one-on-one time with him so I can make sure I know what he is thinking:)  We love you, Bennet, and are so very proud of you!
